North
Lao Liang Island
Also known as Lao Liang Nong (little brother) Island, the
North of twin Lao Liang island is 22 kilometers away from
Had Yao port, the newest and most modern in Trang. The island
itself is unique in its shape and only one beach on the East
side of the island makes it ideal to stay away from the hectic
life of crowded area. This cozy beach guarantees you white
sand, clear water, and beautiful corals for your pleasure
of swimming and skin diving. Usually found only in deep water,
beautiful sea fan can be found at just 1-2 meters underwater
at the north end of the island while seven-colored soft corals
can be found at the south end. Furthermore, the vast of limestone
cliffs challenge all rock climbers with various routes, ranging
from very easy to most grueling. Back by these cliffs, a camp
site with sunrise panorama is waiting to welcome you from
Nov thru May.
South Lao Liang Island
Also known as Lao Liang Pee (Big Brother), the South of twin
Lao Liang Islands accommodates a villa of local fishermen
and a large white-sand beach on the East side. This island
is bigger than Lao Liang Nong and the beach is longer and
bigger. Just few hundreds meters away from the other, this
island offers a gorgeous scene of Lao Liang Nong. Both soft
and hard coral, as well as varieties of schools of fish, make
this island one of a must destination for your adventure.
At this moment, this island can only be visited at day and
only activities in the water are ready for your pleasure.
Ta Kiang Island
Only 4 kilometers away from Lao Liang Nong Island, Koh Ta
Kiang is standing between shallow and deep water, offering
you one of the nicest snorkeling spot around. White-sand beach
with dark round rock is among one of the gorgeous you must
visit. Besides, hard corals and assorted school of fish in
the warm water turn this island into a paradise to every skin
diver. A 15-minute ride from Lao Liang Nong by long-tailed
boats serves you daily.
Petra Island
This long island is the biggest in this archipelago and has
the longest beach around. The vessel-like shape of sky-high
limestone mountains on this island was the reason of its name,
Petra. This unique shape will lure you to think that your
get lost in the pirate island. This is the true sanctuary
for all underwater life.
